What’s happening with the tariff refunds?

On April 20, U.S. Customs and Border Protection opened the “CAPE” portal to submit refunds. We at the Alex Nichols Agency filed all eligible shipments for a tariff refund for our clients on April 20, the day the portal opened.

We began to receive a portion of the refunds filed and have issued checks to the related clients; however, since the initial round of refunds, there has recently been a pause in refund activity from U.S. Customs. The agency indicated that refunds will be issued within 60–90 days after filing. We will continue to send the refund to eligible clients as soon as we receive the funds from U.S. Customs.
